Engineer II (Plating)

Job Summary
Own and sustain BIM (RTR) plating processes and equipment to ensure stable, high-yield manufacturing in a high-volume semiconductor environment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, quality, throughput, and cost reduction while identifying and eliminating process variations through data-driven analysis. Lead Lot-On-Hold disposition and provide floor support to manufacturing operations, collaborating with Equipment, R&D, NPI, QA, and Product teams for new product qualification. Maintain technical documentation, coordinate with suppliers on equipment and chemicals, and mentor technicians for 24/7 operations. Ensure full compliance with EHS and chemical handling standards. Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years in semiconductor manufacturing required; experience with MECO plating lines is a strong advantage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum 5 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience
- At least 3 years in plating or wet processes
- Strong knowledge of plating process fundamentals
- Strong knowledge of chemical interactions
- Strong knowledge of defect troubleshooting
- Proficiency with statistical analysis tools such as JMP or Minitab
- Excellent technical documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Chemical Engineering preferred
- Hands-on experience with semiconductor plating equipment
- Experience with MECO plating lines
- Experience with BIM / RTR plating lines
- Exposure to advanced packaging technologies
- Proven track record in yield improvement and process optimization projects
