Job Summary
Mechanical Systems Engineer to support the PM AAA within the ACV and AAV Sustainment Team. Responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and developing technical documentation for engineering change proposals and sustainment objectives; conducting detailed analyses and participating in design and ECP reviews; witnessing hardware integration onto AAV/ACV platforms and observing test execution; reviewing test plans/reports for accuracy; and developing informational briefs to present results to government stakeholders in support of program schedules. Education requires a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred); candidates should have 4–6 years of mechanical or systems engineering experience with DoD acquisition/sustainment exposure; active Secret clearance; and strong analytical/technical communication skills. Preferred qualifications include PE licensure or progress toward licensure, CAD certifications, INCOSE CSEP or equivalent, DoD 8570 familiarity, experience with lifecycle sustainment, and experience with military defense environments. The work environment is consistent with a typical indoor office setting, and the organization emphasizes acquisition, life cycle logistics, and engineering solutions for government customers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred)
- 4–6 years of professional experience in mechanical or systems engineering
- Experience in DoD acquisition or sustainment programs preferred
- Expertise in engineering design reviews and technical analysis
- Experience reviewing and commenting on technical documentation (requirements, CAD files, test plans/reports, ECPs)
- Support for integration and testing of mechanical systems
- Ability to identify and mitigate technical risks
- Familiarity with sustainment processes, configuration management, life cycle support
- Active Secret clearance required for classified program activities
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure (preferred)
- CAD certifications (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent)
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent
- DoD 8570 baseline certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP) (IT-related systems) (preferred)
- Experience with lifecycle sustainment planning and risk management
- Experience with tactical and combat vehicles in military/defense environments
- Strong presentation skills for briefs to government stakeholders
