Job Summary
Interpret, write, and modify COBOL Batch and CICS programs according to business requirements and documented standards. Collaborate with peers, teams, and departments to analyze, design, and implement quality technical mortgage solutions aligned with architectural standards. Research, strategize, and implement coding solutions within expected timelines while providing technical support to applications currently in production. May serve as technical lead, architect, project lead, or principal developer, mentoring less experienced staff. Perform secondary production support in an on-call rotation. Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of z/OS mainframe application development experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
- 5+ years z/OS mainframe application development technologies such as Batch/CICS COBOL, JCL, IDz, ISPW, REXX, TSO
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to communicate well to technical and non-technical audiences
- Results oriented, business focused, and successful at interfacing across multiple organizational units
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with little guidance or formal training
- Ability to identify opportunities to create, improve or enhance tools and processes to improve productivity and help minimize Production risk
- Performs well under pressure/time constraints
- Adaptable, Approachable, able to give/take direction

- COBOL for Z/OS, CICS; IDz
- VSAM/DB2 file structures, ISPW source code/release management
- IDZ, TSO/ISPF mainframe IDE's interfaces
- Utilities (IDCAMS, FILEAID, XPEDITER, QUIKJOB), LIBRARIAN, RDZ - Rational Suite
- MS Office (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Visio)
Desired Qualifications
- Java/Java plug-ins
- Assembler, C*
- Mortgage/MSP knowledge and understanding of FM
- Familiarity with FM/MSP production job flows and processes
