Job Summary
Engineer II role providing technical authority for Navy AC&R systems aboard ships, submarines, and aircraft carriers; perform 3D modeling, drafting, testing, and technical support to enhance Navy Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC&R) systems; develop Ship Change Documents (SCD) and ShipAlts; support life-cycle management, testing (EQT, NDT, SOVT), and ship modernization; review drawings and provide engineering analyses and reports; require SECRET clearance and willingness to travel up to 25%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
- At least 3 years of professional engineering experience focusing on Navy AC&R systems (mechanical system design, repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance, and testing)
- Strong understanding of Navy ship systems, including air conditioning, refrigeration, Fluid Systems, pumps, heat exchangers, actuators, and other associated equipment
- Experience with control systems and variable speed (frequency) drives (VSD/VFD)
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
- Proficiency in engineering and 3D modeling tools
- Ability to support and execute technical testing and develop detailed reports
- Team-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- The ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
- Travel up to 25% may be required within and outside of the continental United States
