Job Summary

Engineer II to support Navy AC&R systems on ships and shore facilities. Responsibilities include 3D modeling, drafting, testing, and technical support for Navy AC&R systems and equipment (surfaces ships, submarines, aircraft carriers). Tasks cover design, modeling, analysis, testing of AC&R subsystems, developing Ship Change Documents (SCD) and ShipAlts, life-cycle support of AC&R equipment, test facility support, EW/QA for EQT and NDT of heat exchangers, performing SOVT and pressure tests onboard, supporting ship modernization programs with new technologies, drawing reviews for material requirements, and responding to ILS technical feedbacks. Requires collaboration with teams, ability to interpret ship installation drawings and NAVSEA standards, and willingness to travel up to 25% and maintain a SECRET clearance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
  • At least 3 years of professional engineering experience with Navy AC&R systems (mechanical system design, repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance, and testing)
  • Strong understanding of Navy ship systems including air conditioning, refrigeration, fluid systems, pumps, heat exchangers, actuators, and related equipment
  • Experience with control systems and variable speed (frequency) drives (VSD/VFD)
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proficiency in engineering and 3D modeling tools
  • Ability to support and execute technical testing and develop detailed reports
  • Team-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items
  • Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Travel up to 25% may be required within and outside of the continental United States
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Export-control compliance
