Job Summary
Engineer II performs maintenance duties across casino/hotel facilities focusing on painting, carpentry, drywall, and wallpaper. He/she plans project layouts, ensures proper PPE, handles drywall repair and surface preparation for painting, and completes tasks in line with department standards. Responsibilities include following preventative maintenance schedules, documenting work in a database, responding to guest and staff maintenance calls across rooms, offices, shops, kitchen, laundry, hotel and casino areas, performing equipment repair and maintenance, maintaining housekeeping standards, assisting the Chief Engineer with machinery and safety items on the vessel, and applying general maintenance procedures. The role requires knowledge of state/local codes, apprentice-level skills, and the ability to read and interpret operating procedures, blueprints, and schematics, along with strong mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Required Qualifications
- Apprentice level knowledge of skills
- Knowledge of state and local code as it applies to his or her trade skill
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals, safety rules, blueprints, or schematics
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form
