Job Summary

Support SAS/SATA/NVMe protocol, RAID controller firmware, OS drivers, and management software for assigned Data Center products. Assist with design wins, system bring-up, and triage complex issues while working closely with product development, validation, marketing, and sales teams. Perform board-level debug, minor reworks, and code updates to resolve customer problems in a timely manner. Maintain the knowledge base and issue-tracking database, root cause document customer issues, and develop customer-level documentation including user guides and training materials. Provide technical training to end customers, FAEs, and sales teams, and travel within North America and internationally as needed for trade shows and site debugging.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 2.5+ years of directly related experience in a similar Applications or hardware customer-support role (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of SAS/SATA, SCSI, PCIe/CXL, NVMe and other storage related technologies
  • Experience with board-level debug
  • Experience with board schematics & layout review
  • Proficient programming skills in Python and C/C++, with TCL/TK or other scripting language
  • Experience with bench top equipment such as protocol analyzers/exercisers, logic analyzers, and other storage or networking related test equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with customer facing experience and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and across multiple geographical locations
  • Customer facing experience (Tier 1 a plus) and ability to understand requirements and help drive them through the project management process
  • Must demonstrate initiative and ownership, be self-motivated, and ask questions when in doubt to fully understand the task
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Travel within North America and internationally, as needed, to work at trade shows, customer sites to debug firmware and software

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with RISC, MIPS, ARM based embedded processors
  • Experience with storage accelerators
  • Experience working with Marketing and Sales teams
  • Understanding of server BIOS functionality and device drivers
  • Experience with server/storage firmware and software
  • Hardware and chip development/debug skills
  • Experience with high-speed debug equipment like oscilloscopes, DCAJ and BERT
  • Debugging skills and experience with kernel (Windbg), JTAG, serial port, Greenhills Debugger
  • Experience in the Storage Industry
  • TCP/IP knowledge/experience
  • Local Area Networking experience
  • Experienced with Storage management (MCTP, BMC, etc.)
  • Highly structured programming in C, C++, and TCL/TK or other scripting language
