Job Summary
Engineer II performs engineering design review and analysis assignments, involving significant or less complex projects, requiring a competent application of engineering knowledge. Responsibilities include conducting detailed engineering reviews for compliance with regulations, offering technical advice, resolving design conflicts, proposing new solutions, preparing reports, and communicating workload status. Key qualifications include a B.S. degree in relevant engineering fields or a higher degree with no experience, along with significant engineering experience and familiarity with engineering software and Finite Element Method.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Civil, Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or related disciplines
- Ten (10) years or more of related engineering experience in a shipyard, design/consulting office, shipping/oil company, or classification society
- Seagoing engineering license or professional/chartered engineer license with five (5) years or more of related engineering experience
- Demonstrated computer literacy in engineering software
- Exposed to Finite Element Method (course work or supervised research)
