Job Summary
Senior Stability & Statutory Engineer responsible for engineering and technical review of stability, statutory compliance for vessels and offshore units; perform independent analyses of stability booklets and loading manuals; ensure compliance with ABS rules and IMO regulations; coordinate with clients; provide guidance on stability matters; manage review activities; participate in design reviews for vessel modifications, new construction, or conversions; stay updated on regulatory changes and contribute to process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or related engineering discipline
- At least ten (10) years of relevant stability & statutory experience in a classification society or standard Marine-Offshore design consultancy/shipyard design office
- Experience with stability software (GHS / NAPA / SEASAFE)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, calculations, and engineering documentation with strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
- Working knowledge of ABS classification rules and IMO statutory requirements
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and coordinate across functions
- Willingness to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- Chartered engineering license or professional society membership would be an added advantage
