Job Summary
Maintain guest rooms, corridors, and back-of-house areas in compliance with Health, Fire, and Southern Nevada Health District regulations. Perform repairs including light carpentry, drywall, painting, minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting. Inspect rooms for safety concerns and wear, then respond promptly to guest service requests and work orders. Replace common equipment like HVAC units, thermostats, lighting, and fixtures while conducting scheduled preventive maintenance. Perform safety inspections of smoke detectors, carbon monoxide units, GFCI outlets, and emergency lighting. Follow strict safety protocols, including PPE use and lock-out/tag-out practices. Document all work, repairs, and inspections accurately. Collaborate with Housekeeping and Front Desk to support operations. Transport items up to 80 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions throughout the property.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience of building maintenance
- Ability to properly adjust and balance pool and spa water chemistry
- Basic knowledge of general building maintenance
- Strong problem-solving and basic troubleshooting skills
- Commitment to maintaining personal and team safety at all times
- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), occupational hazards, and applicable safety practices
- Understanding of standard methods and practices used in preventive maintenance and repair
- Ability to safely operate power tools and related equipment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with associates, guests, and vendors
- Ability to consistently provide exceptional internal and external guest service
- Ability to assist with maintaining work orders and logs
- Ability to complete tasks within strict deadlines
- Continuous improvement mindset, seeking ways to enhance processes and results
- Basic skills in diagnosing and repairing relevant equipment
- Valid Nevada driver license
- Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality
- Requires extended periods of sitting, standing, and mobility throughout the work shift
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, and physical flexibility to complete assigned tasks
- Requires the ability to transport, push, pull, and maneuver items weighing up to 80 lbs
- Requires lifting items up to 80 lbs. with assistance, following proper safety procedures
- Involves prolonged periods of standing and/or walking, often in outdoor environments
- Requires strong hand–eye coordination for operation of tools, equipment, and controls
- Requires use of standard office equipment, including computers, radios, and communication tools
- Requires basic mathematical and analytical skills for measurements, chemical calculations, and recordkeeping
- Requires the ability to accurately distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols in logs, labels, and equipment readings
- Requires strict adherence to all Policies and Procedures, including job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS), and other written or verbal instructions
Desired Qualifications
- Three years' experience working in a resort preferred
