Job Summary
Field Service Engineer responsible for on-site installation, servicing, and repair of Thermo Fisher analytical instruments at customer sites. Responsibilities include installing complex equipment, following testing procedures, performing planned maintenance visits, troubleshooting and repairing systems, training customers on system maintenance, generating field service reports, updating documentation, coordinating with product quality teams, and traveling to customer sites as needed. Requires strong electronics/mechanical aptitude, ability to read schematics, proficiency with Windows/MS Office, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers in Korean and English. Travel up to 50-75% and lifting up to 50 lbs are expected; driving credentials and flexibility to respond to emergencies are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, no prior experience required.
- Strong electronics and mechanical aptitude
- Fluency in English; Korean language skills preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50-75%
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field
- 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience installing, solving problems, repairing, and calibrating complex tools (SEM/FIB)
- Experience with ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems
- Fluency in Korean and English
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50-75%
