Job Summary

Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections. Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utilities. Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall repair, and landscaping work. Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs, perform general housekeeping duties, and input air handler schedules on computers. Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance. Follow all safety policies, report hazards, complete required training, and maintain professional appearance while supporting team goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Driver's License
  • High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
  • Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders
  • Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Must be able to perform heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance
  • Must be able to enter and locate work-related information using computers
  • Must be able to use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work
  • Must be able to follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Must be able to report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • Must be able to complete safety training and certifications
  • Must be able to properly store flammable materials
  • Must be able to ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Must be able to protect company assets
  • Must be able to welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Must be able to anticipate and address guests' service needs
  • Must be able to assist individuals with disabilities
  • Must be able to thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Must be able to adhere to quality expectations and standards

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance a plus
  • Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building
  • Display basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes
