Engineer (Hotel Maintenance) – Hospitality

Job Summary

Perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel by inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical spaces for issues. Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical problems, including fixtures, light switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, doors, and locks. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs, and address emergency situations and safety concerns. Complete preventive maintenance inspections, maintain accurate records, and manage tool inventory while adhering to OSHA and hotel policies. This bilingual role requires 3+ years of experience and fluent English/Spanish skills. Pay is $18–$22/hour for a 6-month contract-to-hire position in Mount Laurel, NJ.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hotel, hospitality, building, facilities, or general maintenance
  • Fluent in English and Spanish – Mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are mandatory

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous hotel maintenance or facilities maintenance experience
  • Experience with hotel Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs
  • Experience with HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, electrical systems, and building equipment
  • Knowledge of hotel maintenance or property management systems is a plus
  • Experience working with vendors and outside contractors
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
