Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, hallways, lobby areas, fitness centers, pools, and hotel grounds. Complete preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen, and mechanical systems. Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency repair situations, troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, lighting, appliance, and HVAC issues. Maintain swimming pool and fitness equipment to safety and operational standards while assisting with painting, carpentry, drywall, flooring, and general building repairs. Monitor fire safety systems, alarms, emergency lighting, and security equipment. Ensure compliance with Hilton standards, OSHA regulations, and local building codes. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and inventory of tools and supplies. Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when necessary. Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within the hotel. Work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1-3 years of maintenance experience
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and guest service abilities
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
- Must be able to work unsupervised
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Long hours sometimes required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in Hilton-branded hotels or extended-stay properties
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and hotel operations
- EPA certification or HVAC certification
- Knowledge of pool maintenance procedures
- Technical certification or vocational training
- preferably in hospitality or facilities maintenance
