Job Summary
Evaluate product safety for Hazardous (Classified) Locations by reading national codes, validating project scope, and setting up equipment under test. Perform testing in accordance with standards, compile results, and submit final reports for approval. Conduct preliminary design reviews on and off site, communicate status to clients and management, and document engineering judgments within policy guidelines. This role requires 70% travel and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Fundamentals of engineering certificate / EIT
- Prior project management experience
- Knowledge of Class/ Division scheme, NEC Article 500, 60079 series of standards, various Ex protections
- Demonstrated experience with U.S., Canadian and other international product safety standards; i.e., ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC
- Must possess a valid unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate, up to 75%
- Physical dexterity/mobility to travel via car, airplane and to perform all functions inherent to the position
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
