Job Summary
Undertake flood studies, flood impact assessments, and stormwater management plans. Develop hydraulic, hydrological, water balance, and water quality treatment models. Perform civil engineering calculations to support Water Sensitive Urban Design infrastructure. Prepare GIS databases and maps using QGIS, ArcGIS, or MapInfo, and draft technical reports documenting work. This role sits within the Victorian Stormwater and Flooding team, delivering solutions for hydrological investigations, 1D and 2D regional flood modelling, and WSUD. Based in Melbourne CBD with flexible working options, the position supports projects across government, private, and resource sectors.
Required Qualifications
- A tertiary degree in civil engineering, or similar (essential)
- Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2+ years' professional experience with demonstrated technical expertise in flooding and stormwater engineering within a consultancy environment. This is not a graduate entry position.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a consulting environment highly desirable
- Experience in any of the following software will be considered favourably: GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS or FME
- The hydrology software RORB
- The hydraulic software TUFLOW
- Water quality modelling software such as MUSIC
