Engineer, Facilities Management (Fire Protection System)

Job Summary
Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance for Jurong Port's fire protection and alarm systems, ensuring compliance with SCDF regulations and Singapore Standards. Monitor contractor performance against approved SOPs and OEM manuals, while supervising technicians on inspection, testing, and upgrading works across premises. Manage procurement processes from vendor evaluation to purchase requisitions, and oversee project coordination to meet operational and expansion needs. Account for maintaining 100% serviceability of life safety systems and monitor OPEX/CAPEX budgets. Requires Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering with 3+ years experience; FSM certification and Class 3 driving licence are advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in fire protection system maintenance, testing, commissioning and project management
- Familiarity with Fire Code, SCDF regulations, Singapore Standards, and fire safety legislation
- Experience managing contractors, fire system vendors and service providers
- Knowledge of sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, hose reels, fire alarm systems, fire pumps, gaseous suppression systems and smoke control systems
- Experience in defect investigation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of fire protection systems
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and authorities to execute works with minimal operational impact
- Adaptable, proactive, and service-oriented team player with the ability to multitask, work independently under pressure with minimal supervision, and embrace cross-functional responsibilities and new environments
Desired Qualifications
- Possession of Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification
- Possession of a Class 3 Driving Licence
