Job Summary
As an Engineer in Engineering Enablement at Target, you will serve as a technical specialist delivering engineering that powers the product. You’ll develop insight into the technical architecture and design to deliver robust and scalable software components, actively review code to ensure quality and correctness, and participate in ceremonies shaping the product’s design and architecture. With guidance, you’ll contribute to evaluating new technologies, design lifecycle management, total cost of ownership considerations, and capability to automate tests and deploy high-performance, secure deliverables. You’ll engage in disaster recovery planning, functional integration, regression testing, and incident management, while solving technical issues and monitoring systems capacity. The role emphasizes learning and applying new technologies, cross-team collaboration, and contributing to proof-of-concept initiatives and design reviews while delivering dependable software solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 4 year degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of software development experience
- Familiarity with current and emerging technologies in own scope of responsibility
- Understanding of package solutions and package-specific programming concepts
- Demonstrates ongoing domain-specific knowledge
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- Understanding of distributed programming concepts
- Knowledge of data structures and their application in programming
- Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise
- Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
