Engineer - Electronic Systems R&D (Circuitry)

Job Summary
Design and release wire-harness circuitry for next-generation vehicles, ensuring power distribution, connectors, joints, and grounding meet cost, mass, and performance targets. Lead schedules in line with vehicle development milestones, create and release wire-harness drawings and change documentation, and maintain parts lists for traceability and configuration management. Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to align wiring specifications, support production readiness, and apply Toyota Business Practices to analyze challenges and drive improvements. Bring hands-on experience with wire-harness design tools and a mix of electrical engineering fundamentals, programming (Python), and AI-assisted productivity to streamline engineering workflows. Eligible for relocation assistance; salary discussed as part of the total compensation package.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of experience working with wire harness suppliers in design, development, or production environments
- Ability to interpret and apply circuit schematics and wiring diagrams across electrical systems
- Foundational understanding of vehicle development and manufacturing processes
- Programming experience or coding skills (example: Python) to enhance automation and efficiency
- Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve productivity
- Strong negotiation and influence skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) for documentation and collaboration
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork
