Job Summary
Lead and coordinate development-quality activities for audio product development at HARMAN. Drive DFSS initiatives, Design of Experiments, tolerance and capability analyses, MSA, and risk assessments to ensure design and verification meet requirements. Develop comprehensive test specifications/plans spanning mechanical, electrical, software, acoustics, and environmental realms; coordinate plan execution with product verification and supplier teams; analyze results and generate reports. Lead FAI, stack-tolerance, cosmetic/surface finish reviews, and DFMA assessments at DV with cross-functional involvement from SQM and suppliers. Identify critical specification parameters and verify margins during design and process validation. Collaborate with product development, supplier quality, and regional customer-quality teams to ensure alignment of quality requirements. Willingness to travel and work in an office environment. The role requires advanced engineering degrees (MS preferred), seven+ years in development quality, and a Green Belt in Design for Six Sigma, with experience in audio/video product testing and related lab equipment.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 7+ years in product development quality management
- Minimum seven years of experience in development quality engineering, audio products a must
- Certified Green Belt in Design for Six Sigma methodology
- Experience in developing test specifications/plans for audio video receivers, DVD players, and Apple docking multimedia products
- Lab equipment experience (Spectrum Analyzer, Scope, Network Analyzer, Audio Precision, Signal generator)
- Experience presenting & analyzing data, six sigma, & statistics
