Job Summary
Lead and oversee all engineering aspects of major capital projects related to the design, development, and execution of natural gas facilities. Coordinate with project team members and third-party contract resources to supervise design-related investments, including pipeline, measurement, regulation, compression, storage, and other gas transmission/storage equipment. Deliver mechanical design outputs such as project scopes/estimates, construction drawings, easement exhibits, site layouts, and fabrication drawings; size and order mechanical equipment and materials; develop contractual Construction, Ownership, and Operating Agreements with external customers; provide mechanical engineering technical support and problem solving for operating issues; review and develop design standards and specifications; mentor less experienced engineers; travel up to 25% as required. Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and industry standards (e.g., CFR DOT 192, ASME B31.4/B31.8, API 5L, ANSI B16.5, MSS SP-75, AGA Reports); participate in internal and industry studies to enhance safety and efficiency of gas transmission and storage systems; serve as liaison at community events and contribute to team guidance and training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in mechanical or civil engineering (or a relevant engineering discipline) from an ABET Accredited Engineering Program
- 6 years of experience in design engineering or a related field
- Valid drivers license and insurability
- Ability to work in both an open office environment as well as outside in varied weather conditions
- Ability to understand and apply directions, policies, procedures, guidelines, specifications, standards, requirements, and Federal/State/Local regulations
- Ability to work and collaborate with others throughout the organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Well organized

- Ability to work independently
- Ability to produce results under tight deadlines
