Job Summary
Production Engineer to support the line-off of North America’s first battery production site for prismatic lithium-ion cells and modules. Responsibilities include procuring, installing, and validating battery equipment to support new model launches; promote safety across construction and manufacturing areas; collaborate with Engineers, Construction Management, Technicians, Vendors and General Contractors; participate in cost planning, budgeting, machine specification, procurement, validation, installation, pre-productions trials, and launch of battery production lines; develop and maintain detailed schedules and budgets; contribute to cross-functional groups; identify punchlist items, conduct root cause analysis, and implement countermeasures; mentor others and participate in clean room protocols; require ability to travel up to 25% and support weekend/shutdown work as needed. Desired skills include AutoCAD and ability to read/modify 2D drawings, familiarity with NFPA/NEC/OSHA standards, and prior co-op experience in battery manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar
- 1+ years of experience in production preparation of manufacturing
- experience in execution of capital projects from initial planning to start of production
- AutoCAD experience reading/interpreting and modifying 2D drawings
