Job Summary

Mechanical Product Engineer responsible for pneumatic valves used in railway braking components. Serves as the local expert for Pneumatic products, providing technical support to manufacturing and quality teams, reviewing first-time pass rates, disposition of rejected parts, supplier transitions, and cost improvements, and supporting new variants releases. Manages DFMEA and PFMEA documentation, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to implement modifications for production, conducts tolerance stack analyses (GD&T) on castings, machined parts, and molded assemblies, and leads product quality audits. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve production test failures, supports process development to meet design requirements, and travels to KBRNA sites as needed. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred), 5+ years engineering experience, strong CAD/PLM skills, GD&T expertise, and bilingual communication (Spanish/English). Emphasizes safety, 5s, continuous improvement, and Agile/Scrum environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field is required
  • Master’s in Mechanical Engineering fields is preferable
  • Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience in a structured engineering environment
  • At least 3 years of experience in product responsibility with exposure to production facilities
  • High level of experience in DFMEAs and PFMEAs
  • GD&T and stack-up analysis experience; GD&T certification preferred
  • Experience in design and manufacturing reviews
  • Experience with CAD and PLM tools; SAP knowledge a plus
  • Proficient in CAD; Windchill; PDM/PLM; SAP; MS Office; ERP systems
  • Familiar with common engineering administrative tools and strong communication in Spanish and English
  • Safety, 5's, and continuous improvement mindset
  • Pneumatics knowledge strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of rail braking systems strongly preferred
  • Exposure to automated testing and results analysis preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Travel to KBRNA locations for collaboration with other Engineering teams
