Job Summary

Perform general and complex repairs in and around the hotel, including carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC work. Maintain equipment to minimize downtime by conducting preventive maintenance, inspecting parts, and replacing filters or light bulbs. Resolve guest complaints within scope and escalate unresolved issues to management. Use computers to receive work orders and keep accurate records of all tasks performed. Adhere to strict safety policies, wear non-slip oil-resistant shoes, and utilize required PPE. Report potential safety issues or defective equipment immediately. Work varying schedules including holidays and weekends to reflect business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or proficiency in one or more of the following areas: Refrigeration, HVAC, Commercial Kitchen Equipment Repair and or Central Plant Maintenance
  • Four years of mechanical maintenance or related experience
  • Must wear non-slip, oil-resistant shoes
  • Must maintain a clean and appearance and professional demeanor
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Requires general communication and interpersonal skills
  • Requires ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Requires basic computer skills and ability to use computer systems used at the property
  • Must demonstrate positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Contacts sometimes contain confidential/sensitive information so requires ability to use discretion
  • Must maintain strict compliance with hotel's Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program
  • Must be familiar with current MSDS
  • Must be available for varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
  • Work schedules will include working on holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts
  • Reporting to work as scheduled (on time and on regular basis)
  • Must be able to use discretion regarding confidential/sensitive information

Desired Qualifications

  • Four years of mechanical maintenance or related experience, preferably in a similar work environment
