Job Summary
Execute routine engineering activities and coordinate complex deliverables under the supervision of a licensed engineer. Provide engineering assistance to project managers, review functional specifications for completeness, and develop single line diagrams and design drawings. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support material procurement, QA/QC design reviews, and field construction groups. Manage basic work planning, budgeting, and cost estimating while utilizing and improving engineering processes. Deliver reporting and presentations to work groups and management. This role supports projects within scope, schedule, and cost, with potential extended hours for major storm restoration. Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and an EIT Certificate.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college
- Two years of applicable engineering experience or a combination of education and applicable engineering experience
- Master's degree counts as one year
- EIT Certificate issued by the Puerto Rico Examining Board for Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects
- Business knowledge in the utility & regulated environment
- Experience applying sound judgment to make decisions
- Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers
- Excellent team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments
- Problem-solving skills with proven ability to resolve engineering issues
- Travels: Yes
- Percent of time: 30% approximately
- Overnight required: Yes
