Job Summary
Engineer 2 position within the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (Construction Branch) in Fredericton, NB. The role focuses on coordinating and chairing specification committee meetings to review, revise, and approve standard and particular specifications; implementing and managing updates to the specification library, standards, drawings, and communicating changes through training and guidance; prioritizing and coordinating specification review projects and developing related manuals, procedures, and guidance documents. Responsibilities also include overseeing CMOS program updates, system improvements, reporting processes, user support and training, producing and maintaining monthly CMOS reports, and developing the Employee Development Matrix to track required employee training and certifications, as well as reviewing/updating internal policy manuals across multiple disciplines and maintaining the Construction Branch Shared Drive with appropriate access management and SOPs. Travel within the province is required. The successful candidate must have an engineering degree, professional engineer status, English proficiency, and a track record in road/bridge construction or maintenance, with strong planning, writing, and collaboration skills.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering
- Minimum five (5) years of work experience including three (3) years in construction and/or maintenance
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB) or another Canadian regulatory body
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Written and spoken competence in English
