Job Summary
Conduct daily repairs on hotel HVAC systems, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and motor replacements. Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, electrical equipment, and kitchen machinery. Execute plumbing repairs for clogged drains, pipe replacements, and fixture installations. Replace televisions, light switches, and bulbs; repair furniture, paint areas, and fix drywall and wall coverings. Test cooling towers, swimming pools, and spas while recording readings. Troubleshoot water lines and electronic lock systems by reading blueprints and wiring diagrams. Maintain repair and preventive maintenance logs in compliance with local, state, and federal codes. Work flexible hours to meet hotel operational needs while cross-training in other areas.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- experience in a hotel or a related field
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly courteouse and service oriented manner
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas
- Must be able to effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred
- Trade school and/or College course work in related field helpful
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required
