Job Summary
Perform repairs on hotel air conditioning systems, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors. Execute preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, electrical equipment, and kitchen appliances. Replace light fixtures, televisions, and plumbing components while tracing and repairing water lines. Maintain repair records, test cooling towers and pools, and ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes. Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot and finish sheet rock or wall coverings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- experience in a hotel or a related field
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly courteouse and service oriented manner
- Must be able to effectively listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
- Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
- Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas
- Must be able to effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- Trade school and/or College course work in related field
- Flexible and long hours
