Job Summary
Design, plan, and optimize electrical distribution systems including overhead lines, substations, and transformers while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Perform load flow, fault, and voltage drop analyses to assess network capacity and mitigate potential issues. Manage infrastructure projects from conception to completion, coordinate with contractors, and respond to outages by conducting rapid assessments to restore power. Evaluate new connection requests and specify equipment such as transformers and circuit breakers. Maintain asset records, perform condition assessments, and implement strategies to enhance system reliability and resilience. Analyze data from monitoring systems and smart grids to drive performance insights.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Professional engineering license (PE) or similar certification
- Proficiency in distribution system design software
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools
- Proficiency in power system simulation software
- In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution principles
- Knowledge of grid operation
- Knowledge of protection systems
- Knowledge of equipment
