Job Summary
Engineer 1, Mechanical, Customer Order Engineering role leading mechanical design activities from initial customer requirements through design specifications to manufacturing and operating specifications. You will identify and mitigate risks to people, plant and environment, ensure all engineering deliverables satisfy contractual and third-party requirements, and coordinate planning, scheduling, budgeting, and handover to the client. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Design Engineering, at least 5 years of mechanical design experience in oil & gas/energy/industrial or renewable sectors, strong English communication, GD&T knowledge, FEA experience, proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Creo/ProE/3D), TeamCenter, and familiarity with API/ASME codes and standards, materials/coatings/welding/NDE, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, cost control, health, safety and environmental risk management, and delivering high-quality engineering outputs within budgets and schedules. Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Flexible working patterns are noted, with on-site involvement at the listed location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design Engineering and engineering experience in Oil and Gas, Energy, Industrial or renewable environment
- Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical design engineering
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English
- Ability to resolve issues quickly in a fast-moving environment
- Motivated self-starter with initiative to lead and solve problems
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing ANSI Y14.5M (GD&T)
- Experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Proficiency with MS Office, MathCad, AutoCAD, Creo/ProE/3D software and TeamCenter
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (API, ASME, etc.)
- Understanding of materials, coatings, welding, manufacturing techniques, corrosion protection, and NDE
- Ability to multi-task and work under high pressure
