Job Summary
The Engine Shop Technician III (410) is responsible for high quality repair service on gas and diesel engines, completing assignments to meet flat rate times, operating Dyno operations, performing repairs and adjustments, and mentoring junior technicians. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing engine rebuilds, following safety and contamination control regulations, and maintaining accurate service reports and timecards. The role requires mastery of CAT product knowledge, safe operation of tools, and proficiency in using diagnostic software.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Mastery of all hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
- Knowledge of Database software, Internet software, Manufacturing software and Order processing systems.
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer AA in Applied Diesel Technology
Additional Requirements
- This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.
