Engine Field Tech II

Job Summary
Engine Field Tech II responsible for high quality repair service on equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting problems, performing engine and component rebuilds, removing/installing parts and assemblies, testing to verify operation, and ensuring accurate service reports. You’ll handle hardware/software tools and databases (work orders, parts orders, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW), apply CAT reusability guidelines, complete warranty downloads of ECM, and manage timely parts returns. Requires HS diploma/GED (or 3–5 years related experience; AA preferred), willingness to travel up to 40%, ability to operate basic tools and diagnostic software, and flexibility for shift work and overtime. Safety-sensitive role with potential exposure to moving mechanical parts and chemicals, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- AA in Applied Diesel Technology, preferred
- Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software and order processing systems
- Must be at least 21
- Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment
- Product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical and components
- Ability to provide accurate quotes
- Successfully complete Work Steps assessment
- Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on-call
- Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software and Order processing systems
