Job Summary
Engine Attendant responsible for cleaning and servicing railway equipment, including locomotives, coaches, parts and shop facilities; operate locomotives, track mobiles and forklifts, and manage fueling, sanding and watering; must comply with safety procedures, work various shifts including weekends and outdoor conditions, adapt to new methods and equipment, and perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary School Diploma or GED
- Previous cleaning/labour experience
- Experience operating a forklift is an asset
- Ability to pass the examination for Engine Attendants
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) including experience with two-way radio
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Must be available for shift work
- Previous railway experience, working around large equipment or locomotives an asset
- Must be committed to Health and Safety
- Criminal record check
