Job Summary
Organize, coordinate, and supervise staff for the Activities Program while managing departmental budgets and ensuring compliance with state guidelines. Drive the community vehicle for resident transportation, maintain accurate attendance records, and develop a monthly calendar and newsletter. Represent the residence with potential residents and families to support community occupancy growth, consult with residents on individual needs, and manage volunteer programs. Ensure timely associate reviews, incident report completion, and safety committee implementation.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy
- A certificate in Recreational Therapy
- A minimum of one-year prior experience in the recreational therapy field
- Gerontology experience
- New Hampshire requires a high school diploma or equivalent
- New Hampshire requires a minimum of one year in the organization
- New Hampshire requires one year working with the geriatric population
- Certified Therapeutic Recreations Specialist
- A valid drivers license in the state where you are employed
- No more than two moving violations in a three-year period
- New Hampshire requires associate to be a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Therapist or have the ability to obtain such certificate within one year of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Computer Skills: Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet, database managers presentation software and Calendar/Newsletter software
- The ability to develop, organize and implement a well-rounded activities program that enhances the lives of our residents
- The ability to manage and direct activities of staff
- Knowledge of therapeutic recreational techniques
- The ability to interact positively with outside organizations
- The ability to handle multiple priorities
- The ability to handle emergency situations calmly and completely
- The ability to drive the community vehicle
- A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy is preferred
- A certificate in Recreational Therapy may be accepted
- Certified Therapeutic Recreations Specialist preferred
- Gerontology experience preferred
