Job Summary
Software Developer sought by Transport for London to join the Systems Performance & Integration team. You will help shape TfL’s assets and infrastructure across a portfolio of projects and modes, developing software solutions to enhance system performance and reduce capital investment and operational costs. The role involves working with fellow software developers on engineering projects, contributing to the development and maintenance of simulators that support London Underground operations, and maintaining specialist computing hardware for modelling and simulation activities. You will help foster a culture of continuous improvement through identifying process improvements, best practices, innovation, and new opportunities. The position emphasizes collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, a proactive approach, and a focus on commercial and environmental impact. Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Extensive experience in the design, test, development, documentation and maintenance of software, and knowledge of industry best practice
- Experience in object-oriented programming, e.g. C++
- Experience in high-level programming languages, e.g. Python
- Experience in systems modelling and simulation
- Ability to build effective working relationships with people at all levels across the organisation and externally (supply-chain) and to influence at these levels
