Job Summary
Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs and develop nursing care plans. Maintain medical records, educate families on conditions, and ensure physicians' orders are transcribed appropriately. Administer medications accurately, document controlled substance counts, and notify physicians of significant status changes or medical emergencies. Complete admission and discharge processing, demonstrate universal precautions, and coordinate unit activities while communicating professionally with patients, visitors, and co-workers. Requires current RN license, one year of experience, and CPR/de-escalation certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
- One year of nursing experience
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification
- First aid
Desired Qualifications
- previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience
