Job Summary
Energy System Operator Apprentice at Heber Light & Power. Fully paid four-year apprenticeship with college credit; role involves operating and monitoring SCADA to control distribution, substations, hydro and gas/engine generation; rotate days/nights with 24/7/365 coverage including weekends, holidays, and overtime; duties include demand and resource planning, scheduling generation, buying and selling power, dispatching prearranged outages, reviewing logs, managing service restoration, and handling customer calls. Ideal for a customer-focused, independent worker who thrives in a learning environment and supports shift work; training leads toward hands-on experience in a real utility dispatch environment.
Required Qualifications
