Job Summary
The Energy Solutions Power Plant Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and power generation equipment. Key responsibilities include conducting inspections, performing repairs on various systems including engines and hydraulic systems, generating accurate job estimates, and ensuring all work meets safety and service standards. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, particularly with Caterpillar equipment, along with strong troubleshooting abilities and basic computer skills. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years of previous heavy equipment and/or power plant experience
- Direct experience with Caterpillar equipment
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair multiple types of power plant equipment, power systems, and heavy industrial/natural gas and diesel engines and hydraulic systems
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and influence others to do the same
- Basic computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
- Electrical License(s)
- Gas Engine certifications
Additional Requirements
- Must demonstrate above average discipline in properly completing and submitting all paperwork associated with the work they have performed within 24 hours
- Occasionally may be asked to travel outside of assigned geographical area to assist other Energy Solutions Power Plant Technicians
