Job Summary
Review the Electrical Energization Safety Program with contractors and commissioning authorities, then organize pre-site safety meetings. Conduct compliance analysis of field hands in energized settings while enforcing NFPA 70E, OSHA, and lockout/tag-out protocols. Track QA/QC documentation, review daily pre-task plans, and implement safety briefings for on-field tasks. Perform daily and end-of-day site walks to secure equipment, verify signage, and confirm access control plans for energized spaces. Develop and maintain the master energization schedule, ensuring all pre-energization steps are completed and isolation plans are safe. Interpret line drawings to design effective LOTO systems that meet customer standards.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS + 5 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Able to understand the safe installation of electrical equipment and various voltages, equipment types, and AC/DC systems
- Knowledge of pressurized mechanical lines, compressed gas and air
- Experience in construction and electrical commissioning standards and practices
- Experience communicating complex technical solutions and concepts to engineers and non-engineers
- Ability to Interpret line drawings and system redundancies to ensure design of LOTO systems are 100% effective and in compliance with customer standards
