Job Summary
Provide practical, business-focused legal advice on energy matters, including power, gas, renewables, utilities, energy projects, low-carbon, and wider commercial issues. Draft, review, and negotiate documentation such as power purchase agreements, offtake agreements, supply agreements, development agreements, and connection agreements. Support energy transactions and projects by managing regulatory matters, project development, commercial arrangements, joint ventures, and stakeholder coordination. Work closely with legal, regulatory, commercial, trading, procurement, finance, development, and business teams to manage legal risk and deliver commercial outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer in the UK or an equivalent jurisdiction
- relevant UK energy, utilities or infrastructure experience
- Experience advising on one or more areas of energy law, including power, gas, renewables, utilities, project development, energy regulation, trading, supply or offtake arrangements
- Experience gained in private practice, in-house or on secondment, supporting energy companies, utilities, developers, infrastructure businesses, financial institutions or other commercial organisations
- Strong commercial awareness, drafting, negotiation, stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic and business-focused advice
- possessing the necessary legal authorization to work
