Job Summary
Energy Engineer Co-Op/Intern assisting the Ameresco Engineering team on the development and/or execution of energy efficiency projects. Provide support, reports, and documentation for management; assist with utility data analysis, facility audits, energy efficiency calculations, and compilation of ECMs; support controls installs to gain real-world experience in controls engineering and installation. Working out of the Worthington, OH office with regular in-office presence and ability to drive to client sites within 1-2 hours of Columbus, OH. Responsibilities include Utility Analytics (regression analysis, benchmarking, tariff analysis), Implementation (cost-effective EE projects), Recovery Services (utility programs, grants), On-Site Generation (Cogeneration, CHP, solar, wind), and Energy Efficiency Consulting (audits, assessments, M&V, training). Minimum qualifications emphasize pursuing a BS/MS in engineering and strong MS Office skills; preferred background in mechanical/electrical/energy engineering with experience in lighting, HVAC, controls. Salary range $21.00–$23.00 per hour with standard benefits; compensation may vary by location.
Required Qualifications
- Working toward a B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Engineering preferred); M.S. in Renewable Energy Engineering a plus; Civil/Industrial/Environmental/Computer Engineering considered for related programs.
- Experience working in the energy field with lighting, HVAC, controls, building envelope, etc.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.
