Job Summary
Energy Engineer I will perform energy audits (ASHRAE Level 1 through investment grade) for clients across industries, fine-tune understanding of commercial/industrial building systems, and identify and strategically recommend energy and carbon-reducing measures to meet client goals. Responsibilities include inventorying greenhouse gas emissions and establishing baselines, performing calculations to quantify annual energy/cost savings and GHG reductions, developing budget-quality project cost estimates, utilizing calibrated testing equipment for retro-commissioning field-testing, and developing decarbonization/ electrification strategies. Prepare clear technical reports for diverse audiences and build strong internal/external relationships while traveling ~25% to client sites. Preferred qualifications include certifications (CEM/CEA/EBCP/CBCP), experience with HVAC systems, building controls/energy management systems, and knowledge of renewable solutions (solar PV, wind, geothermal, thermal storage). Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are expected.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience conducting Energy audits
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- US citizenship or lawful permanent resident (due to contractual requirements)
