Job Summary
Energy Engineer responsible for managing and implementing a portfolio-wide Energy Management Plan (EMP), collaborating with Facility Managers, Maintenance Supervisors, and other stakeholders to identify energy-saving opportunities, conduct energy audits and develop energy efficiency measures, lead energy retrofit projects from concept to implementation, oversee commissioning and measurement/verification activities, and support energy reporting. Requires expertise in energy markets and utility rate structures, energy analytics, building operations and conservation, and the development of ROI/cashflow analyses for energy projects; includes coordinating training and educating staff on energy topics and developing building improvement tracking and energy-saving committees. Candidate should have a university engineering degree, PE designation, 5+ years’ experience in energy management, and knowledge of IPMVP, LEED/CEM credentials, and strong MS Office skills. The role is a regular full-time position based in Markham, Ontario, Canada with a salary range of CAD 73,600 to CAD 92,000 per year.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer Designation (P.E.)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in energy management
- Thorough background in utility markets, building optimization/controls, and building systems
- Experience with energy retrofits or programs, and project management
- Experience with Measurement and Verification per IPMVP
- Strong analytical, Excel proficiency, and data interpretation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
- CEM and LEED accreditation (Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation)
- Valid Drivers’ License
