Job Summary
Energy Auditor needed to oversee weatherization work under the Weatherization Program. Conduct home energy audits using blower door and pressure tests, assess site conditions, educate clients on energy savings, identify health and safety risks, determine energy-saving measures (e.g., LED lighting), and develop work orders for contractors. Responsibilities include data documentation, follow-through, field inspections for quality installations, verifying paperwork and compliance with DOE and MDHHS guidelines, and coordinating with clients and contractors. Requires multitasking, team orientation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel. Certification in BPI EA/QCI within 6 months is required; IREC-accredited training provider preferred.
Required Qualifications
- BPI EA/QCI certification from an IREC-accredited training provider (must obtain within 6 months)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel as needed
- Knowledge of DOE weatherization standards and MDHHS CSPMs
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to perform energy audits including blower door, pressure tests, and heating system efficiency assessments
- Experience with documenting data and developing work orders for contractors
