Energy Analyst

Energy Analyst role supporting Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative’s Power Supply team to evaluate wholesale market conditions, forecast demand, and assist in energy procurement strategies. Responsibilities include analyzing Day-Ahead and Real-Time pricing, congestion, and ancillary service impacts; developing short- and long-term forecasts from historical demand, weather, economic, and operational data; supporting procurement and hedging through market analysis and risk assessment; monitoring market positions and system conditions to identify risks; preparing regular load, pricing, congestion, settlements, and market exposure reports; analyzing ERCOT market rule changes and their impacts; maintaining analytical models, databases, and reporting tools; ensuring compliance with hedging and risk management policies; growing understanding of ERCOT nodal market to capture opportunities; supporting COSA rate development and scheduling; coordinating with internal/external parties on market operations, settlements, and billing validation; and performing other duties as assigned.
