Endoscopy Technician / PRN

Job Summary
Conduct gastroenterology procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy while assisting physicians with specimen collection, IV administration, and vital sign monitoring. Teach patients about upcoming procedures using verbal explanations and audiovisual aids, and verify signed consent forms prior to any intervention. Operate specialized equipment such as endoscopes, cautery units, and monitoring devices, while keeping procedure rooms stocked and maintaining accurate documentation of charges and adverse reactions. Transport patients to and from the GID Lab using wheelchairs or stretchers. Requires one year of GI Laboratory Technician experience or current LPN licensure, with a schedule involving shift work and occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience as a Gastrointestinal Laboratory Technician
- current licensure as a Practical Nurse (LPN)
- four years of Gastrointestinal Laboratory Instrument Technician experience
- three years of Nursing Technician II experience
- Lifting 50 lbs max
- Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs
- Occasional to frequent standing & walking
- Occasional sitting
- Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Shift work
- Travel may be required
