Job Summary
Endoscopy Technician provides direct and indirect nursing care to support physicians and RNs in the Endoscopy Department; prepares and maintains endoscopy suites and equipment, assists with specimen capture, passes scopes and accessories during procedures, prepares topical anesthetics under supervision, assists with patient positioning, and supports infection control and sterilization practices. Responsibilities include inventory management, processing and reprocessing endoscopes and related equipment, operating sterilization and disinfection equipment, ensuring safety and quality in endoscopy operations, and cross-covering Surgical Services tasks as needed; requires attention to sterility, data entry, and collaboration with team members. Must have high school diploma (or equivalent), CPR certification, and basic computer data entry skills; Rhode Island Nursing Assistant registration preferred.
