Job Summary
Execute complex root canal therapy, endodontic retreatments, and surgical interventions such as apicoectomies. Diagnose internal tooth pathology including pulp inflammation and deep root fractures while managing traumatic dental injuries like avulsed teeth. Utilize specialized technology including digital radiographs, CBCT scanners, and operating microscopes to deliver patient-centered care. Administer local anesthesia and sedation safely, document detailed clinical notes in EMR software, and collaborate with general dentists on multi-disciplinary treatment plans. Requires a DDS or DMD degree, 2-3 year residency, active state license, and DEA registration. Board certification by the American Board of Endodontics is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school
- Successful completion of an additional 2 to 3-year post-doctoral residency program in endodontics
- A valid, unrestricted state license to practice dentistry in the designated location
- Active DEA and state controlled-substance registration
- Excellent manual dexterity and precise hand-eye coordination for micro-surgery
- Strong diagnostic, critical-thinking, and analytical problem-solving capabilities
- Compassionate bedside manner tailored to relieving highly anxious or pain-ridden patients
- Exceptional communication skills to clearly explain complex procedural steps and risks
