Job Summary
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for faculty, staff, and students. Install, locate, and correct program errors while tracking and monitoring system performance. Prepare hard copy and online documentation to improve user knowledge of computing facilities and resources. Maintain lab procedures, manage computing accounts and supply inventories, and ensure routine security of hardware and facilities. Record, troubleshoot, and report computer problems; initiate repairs and escalate complex issues as necessary. Act as a liaison between users, operations, and technical programming groups while staying current with technology changes.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and training
- one or more years of experience in customer service
- one or more years of experience in computer technical support
- one or more years of experience in computer consulting
- one or more years of experience in computer operations
- Aptitude for and willingness to develop skills in teaching
- good communication ability
- excellent writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well with people
- Demonstrated ability to handle technical problems
- Demonstrated ability to follow complex plans and strategies in a high energy, fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve challenging situations
- Must be able to safely lift up to 40lbs unassisted on a consistent basis
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Mac and Chrome environments
- Experience with enterprise level network support (wired and wireless)
- Experience with repair of Chromebooks
