Job Summary
Conduct Electroencephalogram (EEG) studies, including long-term epilepsy monitoring and ambulatory EEG, for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients across various labs, nursing units, and intraoperatively. Perform evoked potentials, cortical brain mapping, and WADA studies under minimal supervision while ensuring electrical safety and infection control compliance. Function as a work leader to distribute workload, assign priorities based on clinical urgency, and summarize patient neurologic status from charts or direct observation. Provide detailed patient care during seizures and emergency situations, maintain laboratory equipment, and participate in multi-disciplinary quality improvement teams and community outreach efforts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years Working in neurodiagnostic field
- R-EEGT - Registered Electroencephalographic Technician Board registration in one of the following END fields - (R.EEG T.) CLTM R.NCVT. R.EMG T. CLTM
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree preferably in a science related field
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education
- Current knowledge of basic EEG evoked-potentials and/or nerve conduction studies
- Able to establish good rapport with patients public and the staff
- Able to work with severely ill patients
- Has sound independent judgement and initiative
- Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit
